The Spectacled Bear Rescue and Rehabilitation program in Chaparri currently has seven bears. It costs US$120 per month to care for each bear (this includes: food, veterinary care, maintenance of facilities and salary of the local community staff who care for the bears).

You can adopt an Andean Bear at Chaparri for just US$50 per year and contribute to its care and possible future release into the wild.

For your adoption you will receive:

a receipt with letter stating it was a donation to a Peruvian registered charity for tax purposes.,
an adoption certificate,
a photograph of the bear adopted,
a biography of the bear adopted,
two annual e-mail updates from your bear with details of their health and any developments on news on planned releases.
